Chicagoland Chapter of the IIBA

Welcome to the IIBA Chicagoland Chapter

With the changing face of IT, the Business Analyst (BA) role is evolving and becoming a more prominent position within companies.  Business Analysts are playing a critical role throughout the business solution development lifecycle.  BA's are the static link between the business and IT departments -- they must be able to speak both languages.  To build Business Analyst awareness and promote growth, we introduce the Chicagoland Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

The IIBA is a relatively new association and growing quickly.  The IIBA is setting standards and creating a certification process to generate more formal recognition of the Business Analyst position and its value in today's organizations.  The IIBA is creating an organization for Business Analysts equivalent to what the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification has done for Project Managers.

It Starts with Chapters

One of the IIBA Chicagoland chapter goals is to raise the visibility of the Business Analyst role in the Chicagoland area by providing:

  • Support for the IIBA's professional certification of Business Analysis practitioners
  • A venue for BA's to share ideas and experiences
  • An opportunity for BA's to network in their community and meet people who share the same passion for the profession
  • A monthly forum of information relevant to the profession

If you would like to participate in our meetings and learn what other BA's are doing sign up now.
